Dr. Faisal Yonbawi

A young man with short curly hair, a beard, and brown eyes, wearing a dark blue button-up shirt, standing against a plain gray background.

I grew up in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, and completed my medical degree at King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences. I’m now excited to be training in neurology here in Calgary, where I can continue building both my clinical and research skills.

I developed a passion for neurology early in my training, drawn by the intricate connections between the brain and behavior. I’m particularly fascinated by how neurological conditions can reshape personality and cognition, and I’m excited to explore primary autoimmune disorders of the brain through both clinical work and research.

Outside of residency, I enjoy expressing my creativity through music. Playing guitar allows me to find balance between the demands of medicine and the joys of art, and I always look forward to opportunities to share music with friends and family.
