Dr. Lindsay Amatto

A young woman with long wavy brown hair, smiling, wearing a black top and gold necklaces, set against a plain gray background.

I grew up in the windy city of Lethbridge, where I completed my undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of Lethbridge. From there, I moved north to Edmonton for medical school at the University of Alberta, before making my way down to Calgary to train in the adult neurology residency program.

My interest in neurology began after seeing neurological illness affect close family and friends, and it deepened as I discovered how much I enjoyed the patient population and the problem-solving nature of the field. These days, my clinical interests are broad, though I have a particular enthusiasm for neuromuscular disorders/EMG and headache, which may lead me toward a career as a general neurologist.

Outside of residency, I love staying active. I play on several intramural teams, including soccer, basketball, and softball. I’m also an avid runner, having recently completed my first marathon. I enjoy biking, hiking, and other outdoor adventures, and I have my sights set on a long-distance triathlon in the future.
