I grew up in Calgary and completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Calgary, where I first became fascinated by cutting-edge research on neural stem cells and the question: can we regenerate the nervous system? This curiosity eventually grew into a broader interest in translating research innovations into treatments for nervous system diseases.

I went on to the University of Toronto’s MD/PhD program, where I further developed my parallel interests in medicine and fundamental neuroscience, using advanced “read-write” microscopy tools to study real-time dynamics of neuronal excitability during seizures. I’m now excited to continue my neurology training in Calgary, with the goal of becoming a neurologist and neuroscientist capable of bringing innovations like optogenetics and neuronal microcircuit modeling into the care of patients with neurological disease.

Outside of residency, I’m thrilled to be back in Calgary with my partner, Takshi, enjoying the beautiful Rocky Mountains. I love sharing the outdoors and discovering the hidden gems of the city with her, balancing the busy hospital life with adventure and nature.
