Dr. Tefani Perera

I completed both my Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience and my medical degree at the University of Calgary. I first became interested in neurology during my undergraduate studies, while working with Dr. Paolo Federico on research using ASL MRI as a tool to help localize seizure onset zones.

These days, my interests lie in neuromuscular neurology, and I hope to build a career at an academic institution. I’m especially excited about neuromuscular ultrasound, which is now formally entering the scope of practice for Canadian neuromuscular physicians.

Outside of residency, I enjoy staying active and spending time outdoors. I also love exploring new restaurants and experimenting with cooking at home.
